Updated Polarization Plot for 2015-2016

We plan to update our publicly accessible data to include the results of the 2014 election.

In the meantime, here is how the states stack up in terms of polarization. One big change has been the vast increase in polarization in Colorado, which nearly matches California’s polarization. Other rapidly polarizing states include Arizona, Texas, and Missouri.


Individual State Legislator Ideology Data Released

We are releasing, for the first time, our individual state legislator ideology data. We look forward to all the innovative uses the scholarly community and broader public will put the data to.

This is data that has been updated in the two years since we released our paper. There are now over 18,000 state legislators in the data set.
